(The Notes are not going on August hiatus after all: the rest of the staff is pitching in to get them so everybody can know about all that's going on !)

Calvary folks--

Thank you all so very much for the wonderful welcome this past Sunday! As I said in my sermon, I am incredibly thrilled to be here and to be beginning our relationship together as rector and parish. I look forward to getting to meet and know each of you in the coming weeks.

I can be reached at, by calling the church office and dialing extension 14 and leaving a message, or via my cell phone, 860-385-3036. My exact pattern of office hours hasn't settled out yet--but I am always willing to schedule a specific time to get together. Just email me or give me a call. Mondays are my day off.

Be on the lookout for information about a series of informal small group gatherings in late August and throughout September where I can meet with a few folks at a time and get to know you. And do come to the Porch Party at the Rectory on August 22!

I have a 'public figure' Facebook page where I post links to my sermons (if I preached from a manuscript) and where I sometimes share links to interesting or thought-provoking articles or my thoughts on some issue, or maybe just an inspiring quote. It's here. Feel free to "Like, "Follow" and "Share" it!

From the Junior Warden: Audio/Visual Upgrades

We have completed Phase I of the audio / visual upgrades. We have upgraded the old amplifier / mixer system, added more speakers to generate a more uniform sound and replaced all the old microphones. You should begin to notice the difference in the quality and volume of sound as well as eliminating the previous static often heard.

Any feedback is welcomed as some adjustments can be made. We hope to begin discussions on Phase II which will involve a video upgrade that may allow us to live stream and archive services as well as improve connectivity to the parish hall for those instances where we have overflow attendance. I will keep you all informed of our plans.
